If you had asked me a few years ago, I would have told you that going to the nail salon was a non-negotiable part of my routine. For nearly three decades, every three weeks like clockwork, I’d be at the salon, ensuring my nails were always immaculate. You could never catch me without a fresh set. It was a little luxury I indulged in, and I loved it.

But as we all know, the cost of everything has been skyrocketing lately. When I saw the prices for a set of nails creeping higher and higher, I knew it was time to rethink my approach. I’m all about self-care, but I also love finding ways to do it without breaking the bank. So, I decided to try something I hadn’t done in years—doing my own nails at home.

And guess what? I’m obsessed!

Now, I’m getting more compliments on my nails than ever before. Do you see these rhinestone and chrome nails?

At the salon, they would easily cost me over $100. (If you’ve ever had rhinestones applied at a salon, you know they charge a pretty penny.) But with the right glue, these beauties stay put for a solid two weeks—and the best part is, they cost me a fraction of what I used to pay.

I’ve gotten into a groove with either full-coverage artificial nails or mixing it up with rhinestone full coverage nails and classic French manicure tips.

The process for my fingernails are so quick, easy, and inexpensive that I’ve even started doing my nails on the go—in an Uber or on the bus to wherever I’m headed. It’s become a fun little ritual that fits perfectly into my busy life. Now, doing my pedi’s is a lot more time and requires creativity because I love a good colorful design on my toes. I use a nail art set nail polish which has fine pointy brushes that allow me to draw on my toes.

This new way of maintaining my nails has truly won me over. It’s quick, it’s easy, and most importantly, it’s so much more affordable. If you’re curious about the products I use or want to try them for yourself, check out the images and links I’ve shared here on Amazon. I’d love to hear your thoughts—leave a comment if you’ve tried them or plan to. Self-care should be simple, enjoyable, and accessible, and I’m all about finding new ways to make that happen.

Here’s to beautiful nails and the joy of doing it yourself!
